Economy Cooperation Indonesia-Vietnam Expected Increase

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono expect the economy corporation between Indonesia-Vietnam keep increased. Today, trading volume between Indonesia-Vietnam is around US$2, 2 million.

“President expects trading between Indonesia-Vietnam keep increased. US$2, 2 million is increase but it is far under its potential. President expects it keep increased,” Dino Patti Djalal, who is President Special Staff Foreign Country Sector, said after the meeting between President and the head of Vietnam Parliament, Nguyen Phu Trongyang, in president office, Jakarta, Monday (1/3).

His coming was to promote relationship between Indonesia-Vietnam parliaments. The head of Vietnam Parliament worked closely 70 Vietnam entrepreneurs which are doing forum business in Jakarta.

In the meeting which was done around one hour, President expected relationship both of those countries also increased as part of strategy business partner. President also said that he support Vietnam which become ASEAN head and host of KTT ASEAN this year.

“There are three sectors which President pressured to be important element trade and investment, food security, energy security, fishery tourism, and maritime corporation,” Dino said. Dino also said that there is no discussion about the plan of Indonesia entrepreneur which come to Vietnam.

“No, President just said that the relationship between Indonesia and Vietnam need to increase but not particularly,” he said.
